We have also done a videoshoot of the same song and are now doing editing and post-production on the material, we also made some photoshoot at the venue and will put it soon available for all.

Album release date is now set. It will be available in Europe 7th of October by Dark Balance and in the US 11th of October by Facedown Records.

European Tour

June 2011

Plans for tour to support the new album have been ongoing for a long time, and there are still new dates coming, but I thought it would be good to give you some insight before running off to vacation. Dark Balance has been working with Solid State from US, and it is agreed that we will tour in Europe 27.10 - 12.11.2011 with Becoming the Archtype. I posted dates and cities on Myspace, so check that out. Seven countries and lot of cities we have not yet been playing, as well as great familiar places. The plan is however to do shows in Finland before the tour, so we are looking for this to happen. This tour now also works as a motivator to get the album out in time before the tour. Original plan was already to release the album after summer, so we are still in schedule.

Cover art is now approved and we are waiting to get the rest of the artwork to review, so that is looking good too. This time the art will differ from the previous plain nature artwork, as there was a need to do this one differently. Songwriting and work in studio was already taken on a different path, so also the art could be something else. I'll post the cover here later, for you to check it yourselves.

New album in the making

May 2011

Recordings of the new album started July 2010 at Fantom studio, Tampere with Samu Oittinen. Recordings were done in two separate sessions, leaving the vocal parts to a later occasion. This was good choise as the lyrics got enhanced on the way, and many arrange changes was also done. Tragedy striked during the recordings as there was a death in the family, that made obious delays in the timetable. Mixing was done eventually in March 2011 in Fantom studio. Mastering was done at Finnvox, Helsinki by Minerva Pappi May 2011.

12 Songs was selected for the album, featuring guitar oriented melodic metal. Main part of the album, 8 songs, including 2 instrumentals is written by E.Sarkioja and remaining 4 by me. Album's theme and most lyrical content deals with death and mourning. This approach was chosen early on the writing phase, in relation of a serious illness I went through on 2007. As destiny is what happens in life, the theme became reality in 2010, as our father passed and this album came the most personal of all the previous ones. I changed lot of the lyrics more dark and even more on the theme as a token of memory and loss. I cannot describe the relief that I felt as I wrote my feelings onto these songs, like a burden of sadness was lifted from me. This album is dedicated to the memory of late R.Sarkioja.

Album cover artist is now working for a cover art, and we actually went to do the band photoshoot to a graveyard, staying tightly on the theme. Planning for release date and tour to support the album is ongoing, and will be announced soon. Also taster from the album will be put to Myspace, and I'll post more details of the album here later.
